Today at 3am, Friday 26 March, we stated our journey to Puerto Lempiria, flying to Miami from Philadelphia. It was a 2.5 hour flight and we all got upgraded to first class that was very nice, as we got a full breakfast and drinks service for the whole flight. From Miami we flew to Tegucigalpa , the capital of Honduras, it took the same time as the first last plane but we did not get upgraded. The next leg of the journey was on a 40 seat twin prop plane to La Ceiba, that surprisingly was very nice. On arriving at La Ceiba the baggage people told us that all of our bags were left behind in Tegucigalpa because the plane was too heavy. The crazy thing is that we saw our bags on the tarmac when we walked to get on the plane, so that got us pissed off. The next fight to bring the bags to La Ceiba would be at 7am Saturday and we were due to fly to Puerto Limperia at 6am. With no other options we started to plan to survive without our clothes, & Dad’s camera equipment.

We jumped in a taxi to the biggest store in town to buy some swim suits & flip flops, the only clothes we have are hiking boots, long pants & shirts which get too hot in 900F weather, that is a different story. Tired and hot after 16 hours of travelling we finally got to the hotel for the night (our taxi broke down 3 times) and was welcomed by this awesome drink, a virgin cocktail that tasted wonderful. We finally found our room, a cabin in the woods (have to tell you this is a 4 star hotel) and went swimming to cool off in a very nice pool.

And now it is 5.30 am in the morning and I am sitting at the airport waiting for our plane that will come in 2 hours.
